OAK, SACRED TREE

"...the tops of the oaks are tangled and there is hope for the trees..." The oak, a tree turned king, whose reign will last half a year, such is his strength and power. Sacred tree for cultures such as Norse and Celtic. Great healer since ancient times, he's one of the oldest inhabitants of the forest. He knows our roots, he can tell a thousand stories. Druids used the gills of oak trees (snake eggs) to cast spells. If a gill had gnats inside him, the year would be plentiful and the crops fertile, but if it was full of worms, it was a sign that poverty and famine were near. Ancient witches gathered under the wise oak trees. The bark is used to tan leather and make natural dyes, and the sound of his branches swaying in the wind is prophetic. Burning his leaves cleans the environment. Oak wood is very strong and hard. Duir is his letter of the Ogham alphabet, from which the word "door" comes from, and his flowering days are close to the summer solstice. He 's a tree of courage, protection, strength, health...The distilled water of oak leaves helps to keep healthy liver and kidneys, effective in skin problems, female organ infections, diarrhea. His acorns are used to make a coffee substitute. He's a great astringent and antiseptic. The oak is so powerful that he offers everything he has: wood, bark, leaves, fruits...His star is the Sun, his element fire. He's the tree of Dagda, father of the Irish people. He's the tree of Thor because he "courts the lightning". The associated runes are Thurisaz, Raidho and Tiwaz. Silent and wise, his roots extend underground as far as his branches on the way to the sky. Titan of the forest, who doesn't want to sit under his shade, feeling his breath, feeling his warmth and his vibes? He's like a grandfather's embrace, comforting, reassuring and has something that makes us feel small and insignificant. But we feel protected. That's him, the oak tree, one of the elders of the forest that speaks without words...
