Beautiful and ancient legends, they hide mysteries and the true essence of our roots, they help us to understand...MABINOGION,from the Welsh mabinogi meaning child's tales or tales of youth,Mabinogion is a treasure of Celtic culture,a manuscript that compiles eleven tales based on Welsh legends and stories, where folklore, tradition and ancient gods are mixed to immerse us in a distant world, these are tales inherited from the oral tradition of the Welsh bards, and are collected in two manuscripts: Red Book of Hergest and White Book of Rhydderch. The eleven tales are divided into two parts:The 4 branches of the Mabinogi and The 3 Romances. The 4 branches of the Mabinogi are: Pwyll (tells how the Prince of Dyfed takes the place of the king of the Underworld), Branwen (daughter of Ll^yr, here it is told how the unfair treatment of a queen causes a war in Ireland), Manawyddan (son of Ll^yr, tells how a spell is broken and a mother and her son are rescued) and Math (son of Mathonwy and lord of Gwynedd, in this story magic is the protagonist as several characters are turned into animals as revenge). These stories were revived in the Middle Ages,as they were collected in written form, blending tradition with the transitional moment of the Middle Ages, and then in the 19th century Lady Guest and William Pughe made a translation into English, unveiling this masterpiece to the world. The tales tell of romances, adventures, journeys and trials that the heroes of Welsh mythology had to overcome, and Mabinogion is much more than just a collection of legends. Each story is different, but in the end they speak of the same thing: effort, willpower, perseverance and the ability to overcome problems, because everything that happens shape us,makes us what we are now, everything that happens to us has brought us here and now..
