LUGHNASADH/ LAMMAS 🌾... Sunset before my eyes, Moon begins her nightly journey in search of her lover Sun. The harvest shines in a special way, the breeze plays with my hair and sways the ears of corn in the field around me. It's a hypnotic, soothing and magical dance. The first harvest gives us the fruit of the work of all these months. It may not be very abundant, but it's really gratifying to see what you can create with enthusiasm, letting your hands play with what the earth offers us. The days are really hot, Sun struggles to show his strength but darkness dominates this part of the cycle and I can only go with her. We honour Lugh, skilful and brilliant, the one who inevitably reminds me of Baldr. Lugh, who represents light and storms, the fire of Sun. At Lughnasadh, Sun continues to warm the earth and our bodies. Our ancestors knew the importance of Sun in the cycles and the harvest, so now is the time to thank and venerate Sun, now is the time to give him strength and let him continue to warm our souls. Now we must look at the harvest we have gathered, we must smile and enjoy it. In ancient times there was no fixed calendar, men lived with their feet on the ground and their eyes on the sky. So Lughnasadh was celebrated, in many places, during the full moon between Litha and Mabon. That's how I feel, I am still starting to harvest my crop, so I will wait until the full moon to celebrate this special and magical moment. And right now, I am at a crossroads, in the present. Sun caresses my face with the last rays of the day, his hand is warm and so pleasant that I would like to stop time. I would stay here forever. Meanwhile, behind my back, Moon raises a cool breeze that makes me shiver, and reminds me that we are in the dark half of the year. It reminds me that the deepest is yet to come. It reminds me that the harvest is a gift to be preserved and enjoyed in the months ahead. But right now, in this moment, I enjoy being in this beautiful sunset, at this point in the infinite cycle that is always the same, but different every time. That is where its magic lies. Blessed Lughnasadh, folks!!!
