ISA RUNE, A STEP BACK TO MOVE FORWARD

Isa rune. I was once told, "Sometimes, to move forward, you have to take a step back." Isa, from the Old Norse Iss meaning "Ice" . It's the third rune of the Aett of Heimdallr, related to the creative forces, the cosmic forces beyond the control of humans, the wyrd, the norns and the trace of time. All that is necessary for personal growth. Isa is the ice, the stillness, the step back. Isa is a time of suffering, waiting, reflection, looking inward and strengthening the spirit to continue forward. Everything is deeply related. The norns weave their tapestry from the beginning of times, the wyrd is written. The cycle is infinite and the wheel keeps turning, but sometimes it needs to stop and gather strength for the new turn to be fruitful. Isa is the primary and creative force of the ice of Niflheim, is the primal energy that leads to personal growth. This rune warns us that now is not the time to continue with that project, that relationship, that job ... because the outcome won't be good. We must know how to stop in time and wait for the right moment, that everything is in its rightful place. In health issues, Isa rune is linked to the problems of paralysis of any part of the body, loss of sensation and movement. It's a rune of protection, as it protects us from harm if we continue to move forward. Its color is black, its tree is beech, its stone is lapis lazuli, its star is Moon and its element is the earth. Isa reflects the present moment, and therefore represents Verðandi, the norn of the present. It makes us stop here and now. It's a rune to find what is lost, what we don't see. It brings calm, strengthening of the soul, but everything has a price, and in this case it is sadness and melancholy. But I'm more and more sure that everything that is worthwhile, it is hard to get it...
