..after walking along straight roads, Rig arrived at a house with the door facing south. A ring closed the latch, Rig opened it and entered the house. There he found a couple looking into each other's eyes, Fadir and Módir (Father and Mother). The floor was covered with fresh straw. Fadir was braiding rope and making arrowheads for his bow. Módir mended clothes and starched shirts. Módir was a much more delicate woman than the women of the previous houses. She wore blue clothes of a very good quality fabric, a brooch on her chest and her neck was whiter than snow. Rig sat down among them to give them advice. Módir invited him to the table, covered it with a white linen tablecloth. She brought out a loaf of white bread, roast poultry and served wine in beautifully carved goblets. When evening came Rig shared a bed with the couple, sleeping between them, and so spent three next nights. Then he went on his way. Nine months later Módir gave birth to a beautiful boy, they named him Jarl (Noble) and wrapped him in silk. Jarl had blond hair, bright cheeks and lively eyes like a snake. Jarl grew up learning to draw bows, braid ropes, ride a horse, wield a sword...Then one day Rig came out of the forest thicket and taught him the runes and encouraged him to claim and conquer ancestral lands. So Jarl did, becoming the owner of many lands. He married an intelligent, white-skinned, slender-fingered girl named Erna. They had many children, but the most intelligent was Konr (King) who read runes, cast spells, spoke the language of birds and calmed the seas. Konr took the name Rig and one day he went to the forest where a raven urged him to fight against two rich chiefs of a nearby land...And so the noble lineage was born..
