In sagas and folktales of Celtic culture there are beautiful and mysterious stories about druids, magic and their power. Some of that magic was used with elements. Druid Cathbad covered the plain through which Deirdre was escaping with a sea of waves. It is said that druids could create snowstorms, change the day into night... Druid Mag Ruith made a magical fire that he launched into the sky and then hurled it at the enemy, whose druid couldn't deflect it. Cormac's druids dried up all the water on the earth, then another druid shot an arrow and where it landed fresh water began to gush forth. Druid Mathgen threw mountains against his enemies. Many druids made trees and stones turn into armed men, thus frightening the enemy in battle. Others created a deafening noise or piercing screams. In many sagas texts there are stories of druids who were able to create from nothing a dense magical fog. The priestesses of Sena could enrage the sea and the wind with their spells, something the witches would do years later. The power of druids was so immense that they were able to make rain fall on fields and crops. And in all those stories, in all that demonstration of power, is where I see that I was right.... Magic is everywhere, in every corner, in every element...and in all of us.... You just have to know how to use it... Pic by @josemiguelviejo_fotografo
