CONSECRATION OF SHAMAN DRUM

You're finally there,face to face,the moment you've been waiting for so long. Your heart beats hard and fast,but a feeling of peace runs through your body. You're ready to take the step,now begins your journey together.The shamanic drum must be consecrated,shaman and drum must join together.The spirit of the drum must be called and heard.Each drum is different,unique and has a different purpose.The ritual of consecration may vary depending on the culture and the purpose of the drum,but in essence the ritual has the same meaning.The place to consecrate the drum should be special,a place in nature with which the shaman feels a special connection,perhaps high on a peak, in a forest glade,next to a lake...The shaman lights 4 fires,one at each cardinal point. The breathing becomes deep,the silence is overwhelming,the shaman begins to listen to the spirit of the drum,he connects with the earth and begins to merge with it,they breathe in the same rhythm.With the drum in his hand, playing it slowly,feeling its power,the shaman goes around the circle made up of the fires,starting from the north and continuing clockwise.He calls the spirits and energies of the north(earth),east (air),south(fire) and west(water).The four elements that reign in nature permeate the drum and the shaman allows himself to be drawn by the true spirit that dwells in the drum.He finishes the ritual in the middle of the circle,concentrating the spirits of the four directions,thinking and discovering the true purpose of the drum.During the ritual the shaman can sing,dance,whatever he feels inside.He just has to let himself go.Each ritual is personal and different,but all have a new and unique energy that unites the shaman and the drum forever.And there in the middle of the forest will begin their journey together,as one,one spirit,one energy,one path.Two become one...Pic by my wild sister @soniabicker
